Is this the year of peace? Reading Carl Sagan and wondering if he might be right in asking how long humans will live on Earth before they potentially annihilate themselves, myself included. Are humans capable of peaceful living? Are we, beings so complex, that we can not find "reason" in ourselves to live amicably? We are ALL human. We know that. Science says so. We ALL can only live on Earth. Astronomy says so. Its the only place we'll survive. What will it take for the masses, the understand, comprehend and realize that fact insomuch that the understanding improves their actions towards one another? How much more evolving does the human race have to go through before the totality of people significantly improve with peaceful actions, words and responses? Or is it like he says, maybe other intelligent life might have done away with themselves before they could return the radio signal?
